Notre Dame’s investment philosophy centers on the following key principles:
- A long-term time horizon consistent with the perpetual nature of a university
- A multi-asset diversified approach with emphasis on equity and equity-like investments for long-term capital appreciation well in excess of inflation
- Emphasis on less efficient, often less liquid, areas of the capital markets where there is high potential for generating significant “alpha” above a benchmark
- Belief that active management can add value versus a benchmark.
